Dawn's Early Light is Chapter 1 in my over-arching theme of "Heritage" for 2022. A collection of abstract landscapes, focusing on the places of important historical events through the lens of what these places may have looked like in the morning.
Inspired by clouds at dawn with creams, rosy pinks, and spring greens—softened by the velvety texture, which also gives them a vintage appeal.
I use acrylics and drawing media to create a "faux encaustic" texture that closely looks and feels like the beeswax used in encaustic painting. No wax was used.
